Dominique met Ferne at an early Laethmal concert, before they had Oswald as vocalist. The two struck up a friendship which quickly became romantic.
Dominique works as a mechanic, being one of the rare people to own a car. The vehicle does not work, but she made it her goal to repair it. She grew up studying Bantak engineering back in her hometown of Süirel. As such, it makes her quite the specialist in Markiviet, being able to fix a myriad of things.
Outside of her knack for machinery, Dominique also has a passion for sewing and is the costume designer for Laethmal. Being close to all of its members like family, she gets her inspiration from what they love and creates outfits based on their preferences and personalities. She is responsible for many iconic articles of clothing and is considered a fashion visionary. She was also the one who had the idea to colour-code the different bandmates. Oswald in red, Sylvain in pink, Monica in black, Ferne in blue, and Jacques in purple.
Her brother, Antoine Piedmont, is part of the elite team of the Knights of St-Frusquin. They are very close and it's thanks to Dominique that Laethmal, especially Oswald, could be easily bailed out of jail after particularly outrageous performances.

Doom is mainly a secondary character, which is a shame because I dig her design. At least, with the expanding lore, she is now more than just Ferne's wife, because that's all she was for years. I always had it at the back of my mind that she was a mechanic, but never truly delved into it. Now that I've characterized the Knights and thus made one of them her brother, this gives more legitimacy to her occupation. Antoine being a Sombrelune means Dominique has to be one as well, giving her distant Bantak heritage. It now makes sense that she grew up in Ghaur and learned engineering. Also makes sense as to why she would own a car despite living in the slums.
I'm still hoping to expand her character a bit more. However, not everyone can be a main character and that's perfectly fine.
